Possibilities for researchers and university teachers
At Science Shop Vechta/Cloppenburg we are experienced in participatory research projects in the region. If you would like to do participatory research, for example with a citizen science approach, please contact us. We are happy to share experiences, advice and contacts. Collaborative project development with the Science Shop is also possible.
As the science shop for the Oldenburger Muensterland, we are well connected in the two districts of Vechta and Cloppenburg and even beyond. For example, we have contacts to civil society organisations, engaged citizens, teachers, local administration as well as various companies.
We are also members of networks of science shops (Wissnet in German-speaking countries, Living Knowledge on an international level) and are happy to pass on specific enquiries. We also recommend participation in the Living Knowledge Conference.
You want to collect data in the Oldenburger Muensterland region and need specific contacts? Please feel free to get in touch with us. For example, we have contacts to civil society organisations, engaged citizens, teachers, local administration as well as various companies.
If you are developing a new research project with a participatory approach and want to involve the Science Shop as an experienced institution at the University of Vechta, please feel free to contact us. In close cooperation with the Department for Research and Transfer, we provide advice on research funding for citizen science projects and participatory research. We are also happy to provide contacts to potential project partners from our regional, national and international networks.
Science Shop Vechta/Cloppenburg is a member of the German-speaking network of science shops Wissnet as well as the international network Living Knowledge. In addition, we have various contacts from previous international projects and project proposals.
Science Shop Vechta/Cloppenburg is affiliated with the Transfer Office of the University of Vechta. If you want to share your research results with specific target groups, please feel free to ask us for contacts. Also, if you are looking for suggestions on methods for science communication or on regional ways to disseminate practice-oriented research results to the general population, we are happy to share our knowledge and ideas with you.
If you would like to design a new service learning seminar or further develop an existing offer, we are happy to exchange experiences and support you with our knowledge.
Since summer 2016, Science Shop Vechta/Cloppenburg offers a seminar in which groups of students conduct research on regional issues or develop concepts for practice partners. The seminar addresses essential approaches and concepts of transdisciplinarity and "Responsible Research and Innovation" as well as practices of participatory research and science shops. The students then cooperate with partner institutions like civil society organisations, municipal institutions, educational institutions or companies. Our students have different subject backgrounds and thus work in interdisciplinary research groups.
The seminar was developed within the framework of the EU project EnRRICH (Enhancing Responsible Research and Innovation through Curricula in Higher Education). The project dealt with methods for responding to citizens' questions and incorporating the topics into university research.
