The Center of Sustainability Transformation in Areas of Intensive Agriculture (trafo:agrar) at the Vechta site sees itself as a point of contact for actors from society, business and science who want to put ideas for a sustainable and future-oriented agricultural and food industry into practice.

Center of Sustainability Transformation in Areas of Intensive Agriculture
Five universities are working together in a cooperative network with players from industry to jointly promote the sustainable development of the agricultural and food industry in northwestern Germany: Economic, social and ecological concerns are to be harmonized in the best possible way. Representatives from a nature conservation association and two Lower Saxony ministries are on hand to advise the network.

About us
The Center of Sustainability Transformation in Areas of Intensive Agriculture, location Vechta promotes the dialog between science and regional economy as well as other actors from the population, politics and administration. The initiation and application of projects is another important task. In addition to basic research, application-related issues are also to be included in projects. Topics include, for example, material flows, nutrient inputs, animal health or the acceptance of modern agriculture and the food industry.
Committees
trafo:agrar works closely with the Advisory Board and the Scientific Advisory Board. While the advisory board provides impetus for joint projects and joint trafo:agrar work, the scientific advisory board advises on all issues relating to scientificity and methods as well as the training and continuing education of specialists and managers.
Projects
One of the core tasks of the network is to develop innovative projects with transformation potential, building a bridge between science, business and the population. The special feature: Cross-disciplinary, i.e. interdisciplinary research for the joint (transdisciplinary) and sustainable design of change in an agrarian intensive region forms the basis for this.
