New Project "Impact Assessment for Action Competence (IMP>ACT)" [2024/01]
IMP>ACT is funded by Horizon Europe (HORIZON-CL5-2023-D1-01-10) with a total of approximately five million euros. The consortium is led by Utrecht University (Netherlands). The partners in the consortium will develop an assessment framework to better understand the impacts of sustainability and climate change education. The number of initiatives in this field has grown enormously, but due to a lack of insights into their quality, there is a significant need for impact assessment. The IMP>ACT project started in January and will run for four years. The project consists of several phases, including a theoretical phase where researchers explicitly define what learners should learn and how it can be measured. Another crucial phase involves six case studies to test the assessment framework with various users. During this phase, organizations that provide sustainability and climate change education will evaluate their own impact using the tools developed. Utrecht University leads the consortium, with universities and research institutes from Germany, Belgium, Sweden, Italy, Serbia, and the Czech Republic as partners. In addition, organizations actively involved in sustainability and climate change education, such as an educational association and a scout organization, as well as a government agency responsible for policy in this field, are participating. (IMP>ACT partners: Utrecht University (Freudenthal Institute and U-Talent), Karlstad University, University of Vechta, University of Antwerp, Masaryk University, INVALSI: National Institute for the Evaluation of the Education and Training System, Centre for the Promotion of Science in Serbia, Keep Sweden Tidy, DGHochN: German Society for Sustainability at Higher Education Institutions, Flemish Government: Centre for Sustainable Education, Scouting Institute in the Czech Republic.)
