35th International Geographical Congress | 24 - 30 August 2024 in Dublin

IGC 2024 will continue the tradition of previous congresses by recognizing that our world faces common natural and societal challenges that can only be addressed through global action, understanding, and knowledge sharing. Geography as a discipline brings a set of valuable skills, attributes, and a unique way of thinking that can offer significant benefits to other disciplines, policymakers, officials, politicians, and our broader community.

The congress theme, "Celebrating a World of Difference," underscores our determined intention to promote intercultural awareness and understanding through the academic and practical program. To recognize intellectual diversity as a source of strength and to extend the influence of geographic research and thinking beyond the confines of the Congress. Research will be devoted to the complex interactions among people, places, and the natural world.

In an increasingly contested, fragmented, and challenged world, it is critical to celebrate our differences as strengths while recognizing our shared humanity.
